A 10th-century Pyxis
This vessel was made in the 10th century out of ivory. The Arabic inscription reads ‘[The blessing of God] and prosperity and good fortune to Ziyad ibn Aflah, Prefect of Police. Made in the year 359’
A 10th-century Casket
This box was made of ivory, carved with hunting motifs. It originally had an Arabic inscription, but it was removed (likely when it was owned by a Christian).
